Car parking

Car parking is available at all sites. Availability, tariffs, and facilities vary, so please check the sections below to find the correct information for the site you're visiting.

Car parking at York Hospital

There is a large multi-storey car park at York Hospital.

At peak times, this car park becomes very busy and may be full at some points during the day. Please begin your journey to the hospital with enough time to find a space. From Monday to Friday, the busiest periods are 10am-11am and 1pm-3pm.

Ticketless Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology is in operation, which makes it quicker and more simple to enter and exit the car park. Cameras will read your vehicle's number plate on arrival and exit.

Paying for parking

Payment can be made at the pay machines located in the multi-storey when you are leaving. The machines accept card (chip and pin and contactless) and cash. If you don't want to use the machines, you can also pay using the Trust parking app.

Standard visitor parking tariffs are clearly displayed in the parking area. Current tariffs are:

Visitors are required to pay for parking between 8am and 8pm.

Blue Badge parking is permitted free of charge. York Hospital has over 50 Blue Badge parking spaces for patients and visitors, mostly found in the Blue Badge car park at the main entrance of the hospital.

If there are no spaces available in this car park, please use the multi-storey car park, where you can also park for free.

To validate your free parking, please bring your badge to the car park and ID office (ground floor of the multi-storey car park) or York Hospital's main reception (if you are parked in the multi-storey car park).

Car parking at Scarborough Hospital

There is a large visitor car park at Scarborough Hospital, located on the left as you arrive onto the hospital site.

Blue Badge parking is permitted free of charge in designated Blue Badge parking areas. The hospital has 25 designed Blue Badge parking bays. The car park is located in front of the main hospital entrance in the South Wing.

If you are a Blue Badge holder, you can register your details with us by contacting the ID and Car Parking Office.

To register, email yhs-tr.IDandCarParkingSGH@nhs.net.

You can also have your parking authorised by taking your Blue Badge and vehicle registration number to either the ID and Car Parking Office, located in the main entrance of the hospital, or the General Office at the North Entrance.

Car parking at Bridlington Hospital

There are two car parks at Bridlington Hospital with plenty of parking spaces.

Blue Badge parking

Blue Badge holder parking is permitted free of charge in designated parking areas. Disabled car parking spaces are available outside the main entrance.

If you are a Blue Badge holder, you can register your details with us by contacting the ID and Car Parking Office.

Car parking at Malton, Selby, Nelsons Court, St Monica's, and White Cross Court

Parking at these sites is free for all patients.

Parking at Malton Community Hospital

There are three car parks at Malton, with plenty of car parking spaces.

Nine disabled car parking spaces are available outside the main entrance.

Parking at The New Selby War Memorial Hospital

There are 100 car parking spaces for visitors, shared with the Civic Centre. This includes 15 disabled parking spaces.

Parking at Nelsons Court

There is parking available onsite for patients, relatives, and visitors.

Parking at St Monica's

There is parking available onsite for patients, relatives, and visitors.

Parking at White Cross Court

Limited car parking is available at White Cross Court.

Car parking concessions

The Trust offers a number of concessions to visitors and patients who attend the hospital regularly or for long periods of time. To obtain any of these concessions, please see a member of staff on the ward or unit.

Maternity access at York Hospital - Saturday 22 February

On Saturday 22 February, 8am-6pm, there will be a temporary change of vehicle access to the maternity unit at York Hospital. Access via entrance 2 will be closed to allow essential works to be completed. 

If you are attending the maternity unit at York on this day, please drive in via the entrance for A&E (marked blue light priority).

The multi-storey car park will not be affected by this change, and any non-urgent visitors should continue to park in this area.
