Clinical Indication1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D is the active form of vitamin D. This test should only be done if 25-hydorxyvitamin D results do not fit in with clinical picture. It is predominanlty used in the Investigation of hypercalcaemia if sarcoidosis or lymphoma is suspected as the cause.
