What to expect when you attend the Medical Elective Suite (MES)

The Medical Elective Suite has changed location recently. Please see the MES webpage or your appointment letter.  It is an outpatient treatment area, which provides treatment for patients under the care of all specialities. It is run by Sister Laura Rycroft and Deputy Sister Stephanie Twine, who work with a team of staff nurses, health care assistants and a Liaison officer, Samantha Fawcett.

MES is open Monday to Friday 7:00am to 9:00pm and Saturdays 7:00am to 1:00pm. MES works closely with the Rheumatology Consultants and Specialist nurses and once referred for treatment an appointment will be sent out.

The services available on MES are Doctor led rheumatology joint injection clinics, nurse led methotrexate clinic and nurse led infusions, which include; rituximab, cyclophosphamide, infliximab, tocilizumab, ibandronate and zoledronic acid.
