Scarborough Hospital SCBU

The Special Care Baby Unit at Scarborough Hospital has eight cots that primarily care for babies requiring special care, that are born from 32 weeks onwards.

On occasions it cares for those requiring intensive care until such a time that they are transferred to an alternative unit.

The unit is located on the second floor of the hospital.

Visiting is unrestricted for parents and siblings. For other family members and friends visiting times are 3 pm until 7.30 pm. We regret that we cannot allow children under 12 (other than siblings) to visit. Only three visitors are allowed per cot - this includes parents.

If you know that your baby is going to be admitted to the Special Care Baby Unit please bring some clothes and nappies. However, there is a small supply on the unit.
