Clinical IndicationZinc measurement is used to identify deficiency. It is also used in the monitoring those patients who are receiving nutritional support e.g. post bariatric surgery. Zinc deficiency in humans can lead to skin lesions, irritability, loss of hair and growth retardation in children. Zinc insufficiency is all associated with impaired immunological function.
