| Clinical Indication | Some anti-malaria drugs (e.g. primaquine) may cause oxidant-induced haemolytic anaemia in those with a deficiency of G6PD - individuals with P.vivax and P.ovale (negative P.Falcip) should have their G6PD level checked before drug therapy is initiated If this occurs in SGH please refer samples to York for urgent analysis. Other clinical indication pre oxidant drug administration and unexplained cases of prolonged jaundice or haemolysis |
