Brown clotted serum, gel barrier

TestLGI1 and CASPR2 Antibodies (VGKC-complex antibodies)
Common AbbreviationsVGKC
ProfileN/A
Clinical IndicationVGKC antibodies have recently been renamed VGKC-complex antibodies, as it is now recognised that the VGKCs are tightly complexed with other proteins and that the radioimmunoprecipitaion assay recognises the complexed proteins as well as the VGKCs themselves. The most common complex proteins discovered so far are LGI1 and CASPR2. However, as not all the complex proteins have been identified, we recommend testing for VGKC-complex antibodies as a first step.

Yellow weather warnings in our area

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for ice and snow in our area. This is expected to affect routes to and from our hospital sites.

If you are attending for an appointment, please plan ahead. Check road closures, leave in plenty of time, and drive safely.
