Progressive neurology

We provide a specialist service to both Inpatients and Outpatients with communication and swallowing (Dysphagia) difficulties as a result of a progressive neurological disease, such as, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's Disease, etc.

We liaise with other health professionals, such as, Consultant Neurologists, Specialist Neurology Nurses, Dietitians, and Physiotherapists within the York and Selby Districts.

We provide assessment, treatment, support, advice and information for patients and their families and carers.

We provide treatment on an individual basis and /or within a group environment, such as our regular Communication Groups. We also provide specialist Lee Silverman Voice Therapy as rehabilitative speech therapy for people with Parkinson's Disease. For more information see www.lsvtglobal.com

Maternity access at York Hospital - Saturday 22 February

On Saturday 22 February, 8am-6pm, there will be a temporary change of vehicle access to the maternity unit at York Hospital. Access via entrance 2 will be closed to allow essential works to be completed. 

If you are attending the maternity unit at York on this day, please drive in via the entrance for A&E (marked blue light priority).

The multi-storey car park will not be affected by this change, and any non-urgent visitors should continue to park in this area.
