Meet the Staff Benefits Team
Say hello to the fabulous people who make up your dedicated Staff Benefits Team! Although we are based at York and Scarborough Hospitals, we do get around! Hosting regular drop in sessions and giving talks on your Staff Benefits Package across all sites. We are super friendly to approach, so if you see us out and about feel free to say hello and pick our brains on anything and everything Staff Benefits!
How to save the Staff Benefits and Wellbeing section to your home screen
iPad or iPhone
- Launch “Safari” app.
- Enter into the address field the URL of the website you want to create a shortcut to. Tap “Go.”
- Tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu.
- Tap “Add to Home Screen.” The Add to Home dialog box will appear, with the icon that will be used for this website on the left side of the dialog box.
- Enter the name for the shortcut using the on-screen keyboard and tap “Add.” Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPad’s desktop.
Android
- Launch “Chrome” app.
- Open this link.
- Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
- You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.

Hello, my name is Helen and I am the Staff Benefits Manager. I am based at York Hospital and have worked in the Staff Benefits Team since 2012.
My favourite event is without doubt the Summer Fairs. I love being able to see so many staff face to face and it’s so much fun even if the weather is not always on our side!
The thing I love most about my job is our staff - working to try and make their days a little easier whether its offering a subsidised massage or negotiating a restaurant discount to help the pennies go further.

Hello, my name is Laura and I am a Staff Benefits Coordinator. I am based at Scarborough Hospital and have worked in the Trust since 2010.
My favourite project is the Staff Benefits Desk Calendar. I love the creativity it brings in deciding on a theme and matching design. Every year we get some fantastic entries from staff across the Trust and I love to see the variety of pictures and how each colleague has interpreted the brief.
The thing I love most about my job is getting to tell people when they’ve won the staff lottery, or a competition, or a raffle prize. Fortunately I get to deliver good news on a regular basis and I love to see how excited people get when they find out they’ve won something!

Hello, my name is Annabel and I am a Staff Benefits Coordinator. I am based at York Hospital and I have worked in the Staff Benefits Team since 2018.
My favourite projects of the year are most definitely our Summer Fairs and Christmas Markets, its fabulous seeing the positive impact these events have on our workforce.
The thing I love most about my job is communicating all our amazing schemes, offers and discounts to our staff via our social medias, website and email. I always get so excited for our staff when we have a fabulous new offer to advertise and I love seeing how happy staff are when they see it.

Hello, my name is Laura and I am the Staff Shops Manager. I am based at Scarborough Hospital and I have worked in the Staff Benefits Team for over 10 years.
My favourite event is the summer fairs and Christmas market. It is such a fun time out for Staff whether it’s for a 5 minute break or on their lunch time. They can meet the companies we work with and it’s always nice for them to walk away with a freebie.
The thing I love most about my job is seeing people’s reactions when we get discounted tickets in the shop. We also sell a variety of seasonal stock which saves them going into town – making life that little bit easier.
In the shop we make time to listen to everyone, even if it’s to tell us how happy they are or requests for certain products. We’re always here to offer a listening ear and a safe space to offer a bit of respite when work feels overwhelming.

The thing I love most about my job is notifying the winners of the monthly Staff Lottery. It is lovely to be the bearer of some unexpected, good news!

My favourite time at work is refilling the famous pick n mix. It sells so quickly replenishing the bags is a constant job.
The thing I love most about my job is getting the opportunity to chat to colleagues from all over the hospital and providing staff with a place to get a break from their working environment.

My favourite time at work is when we put together promotional stands in the shop. I like making them fun but presentable with all the correct information for staff to enjoy.
The thing I love most about my job is being appreciated and valued. The rest of the Staff Benefits team are very supportive; always there when I need them with any problems. I also enjoy meeting new faces when customers come into the shop.
